We’ve come to the end of January, so it’s time to try out the January Practice Problems! Be careful, though – some of these are really challenging!
January 2022 Practice Problems
We’d love to feature your ideas when we share the solutions in February. So work on these now, write up your solutions, and send them to me.
Are you getting ready for the AIME contests? The AMC 10/12 scores finally came in, and the American Invitational Math Exams are coming up on February 8 and 16. Our monthly practice problem sets could be an excellent part of your AIME preparation. We always include a few AIME problems, and the challenges can expose you to mathematical ideas and techniques that may come in handy.
Join us on the 2nd Friday of February for our next monthly math team practice! We’ll gather together as a team to work on a team event. The practices build community, allow us to practice strategies to coordinate our efforts, and of course, to get exposed to new challenging problems.

There is no time limit, and there are no restrictions on how you solve these (so don’t worry about simulating contest conditions). Just practice on these problems, alone, or with friends! We love seeing original student solutions; please reply to this email address with your work. If you prepare your solution in LaTeX, the math typesetting language, we might include it in our official solutions packet.
