We had our first online practice on Friday! (Our apologies to the several students who contacted us on Friday, requesting to join.) If you missed it, we hope we’ll see you at the next one.
We’re planning to meet on 2nd Fridays, so the next one will be on Friday, November 12, 2021, from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. To join us next time, please apply to join our Discord server, well in advance of the 2nd Friday.

At the October practice, students collaborated on solving the Team Problems from the 2013 South Brooklyn Invitational Math Contest. These ten problems ranged from merely challenging to the quite complicated.
When your team works on team problems, there are usually too many problems, they are too hard, and there is not enough time. How do you share the work? How do you make use of each team member’s expertise? And how do you work together as a team to check the accuracy?
Here’s our first practice problem set for this school year.
October 2021 Practice Problems
There is no time limit, and there are no restrictions. Just practice on these problems, alone, or with friends! We would love to see your original solutions, so please reply to this email address with your work. If you prepare your solution in LaTeX, the math typesetting language, we might include it in our official solutions packet, which we’ll send out with the November practice problem set.
